Island
Island builds a Chromium-based Enterprise Browser with security, productivity and IT controls built in, used by Fortune 500 companies and large organisations worldwide.
Island, founded in 2020, builds an Enterprise Browser - a Chromium-based workspace in which security, productivity and IT controls are built in natively rather than added on. The product preserves the familiar Chromium user experience while giving organisations visibility and governance over how work happens. It has been adopted by Fortune 500 companies and is used by some of the world's largest organisations across healthcare, finance, government and the wider enterprise.
The company's engineering work spans enterprise browser technology, cybersecurity, web and Chromium browser engineering, endpoint security, IT governance and controls, data security and productivity tooling. The founding premise is that the browser should function as a complete workspace rather than a window to the web, and that a product most people assumed needed no reinvention could be rebuilt from the ground up.
Island was founded by cybersecurity leaders Mike Fey and Dan Amiga, whose experience includes Symantec, McAfee and the wider cybersecurity industry. The company operates a distributed setup, with its headquarters in Dallas and research and development in Tel Aviv, and serves customers globally.
