Jefferson Community Health & Life (JCH&L) is a not-for-profit community hospital and medical center in Fairbury, Nebraska, and one of Jefferson County's largest employers. Founded in 1963, it employs more than 260 full- and part-time staff across a broad range of clinical and support functions, including acute care, emergency medicine, surgical care, family medicine, home health, long-term care, cancer care, behavioral health, women's health, sports medicine and rehabilitation, occupational health and community wellness.
The organisation operates a 17-bed acute care Critical Access Hospital providing emergency, inpatient, outpatient and surgical services, alongside family medicine and visiting specialists. Its wider services include Gardenside, a 40-bed long-term care facility, a home health agency serving residents in the community, and the Burkley Fitness Center, a community wellness and fitness facility.
JCH&L has served the Fairbury area and surrounding parts of Jefferson County for over 60 years. It has been recognised multiple times as a Top 100 Critical Access Hospital, holds a 5-Star rating from the National Rural Rating System and has received the Performance Leadership Award.
