Highland Park CDC

Brooklyn non-profit founded in 1998 addressing homelessness through a Tier 2 family shelter, housing placement, case management, mental health and community programmes.

Highland Park Community Development Corporation (HPCDC) is a Brooklyn-based not-for-profit founded in 1998. Its mission is to improve the quality of life in Brooklyn communities by addressing homelessness in New York City through comprehensive programmes supporting vulnerable families. The organisation works primarily in the Cypress Hills and East New York neighbourhoods of Brooklyn.

At the centre of HPCDC's work is the Tilden Hall Residential Program, a Tier 2 family shelter providing a safe and secure environment for homeless families, with the goal of helping them locate and secure affordable permanent housing. Around this, the organisation delivers Housing Placement Services, case management, mental health support and educational assistance for individuals and families affected by homelessness. Roles across these services span direct client work, housing placement and coordinated care for vulnerable families.

HPCDC also runs community development initiatives that bring together community members to support underserved families, including advocacy for housing entitlements and supportive services. Staff work within an operating model built on collaboration with community members and a stated commitment to serving vulnerable and underserved families in New York City.
