Heembouw

Heembouw is a Dutch family-owned "ontwerpende bouwer" - a designing builder that brings development, architecture and construction together in a single organisation. Founded in 1939 in Roelofarendsveen by the van Berkel family, the company has operated for more than 85 years and is ranked among the top 20 players in the Dutch construction industry. It works exclusively in the Netherlands.

The firm delivers three types of building: commercial and industrial spaces for manufacturing, logistics and growing businesses; offices designed around collaboration, well-being and productivity; and housing, built for housing corporations, developers and investors. Because development, design and realisation sit under one roof, projects are handled by integrated teams rather than handed between separate parties.

Technical work at Heembouw spans Building Information Modeling (BIM), virtual construction, parametric design, lean building and the integration of AI into construction processes. Sustainability is a stated priority across projects, with emphasis on material awareness, energy efficiency, CO2 reduction and climate-adaptive solutions.
