Ballast Nedam is a Dutch construction and development company active in building, infrastructure, marine engineering and real estate. Founded in 1877 as a sand supplier to merchant vessels, the firm has grown into an international construction and engineering business organised across 21 specialised business units, with headquarters in Nieuwegein. It has been part of Rönesans Holding since 2015.
Its portfolio spans several technical domains: construction and infrastructure engineering, offshore wind, marine engineering, urban and real estate development, water management, mobility infrastructure and the energy transition. Named projects include the renovation of the A27 highway, the urban developments Waldorp Four in The Hague and Eleven Square in Amsterdam, marine works such as dams and port construction, wind farms, and the sinking tunnel in Basra, Iraq. Work is carried out both in the Netherlands and internationally.
