Hack The Box

Hack The Box is a cybersecurity readiness and upskilling platform offering hands-on offensive and defensive labs, live-fire simulations and structured training for individuals and organisations.

Hack The Box, founded in 2017, is a cybersecurity readiness and upskilling platform built around hands-on practice. Its offering combines offensive and defensive labs, live-fire simulations and community-driven training, using AI-enhanced intelligence to help individuals and organisations develop practical security skills through real-world scenarios rather than theory alone. The company operates globally and reports a community of more than 4 million members and over 1,500 organisations using the platform.

The main product, the Hack The Box Platform, brings together labs, simulations and community content. Two further offerings extend it: HTB Academy, which provides structured learning paths for developing cybersecurity talent, and team-based CTFs and crisis simulations intended to validate cyber resilience and reduce breach risk. Technical coverage spans offensive security labs, defensive security labs, live-fire simulations, gamified learning and capture-the-flag (CTF) exercises.

Content is updated continuously to reflect current threats, and the company describes its approach as geared towards active defence capability. Its customers include enterprises - among them Fortune 500 firms - as well as government and public-sector bodies and managed security services providers (MSSPs). Team size and funding details are not disclosed.
