Galileo Global Education is Europe's largest for-profit higher-education provider. Founded in 2012, the group operates a network of 65 specialized schools and universities across 20 countries, with more than 300,000 students enrolled. Its institutions include Regent's University London, Istituto Marangoni, emlyon business school and European University Cyprus, and cover four main fields: creative arts, business, technology and health.
The group was founded by Providence Equity and, since 2020, has been owned by the Bettencourt Meyers family together with Bpifrance. Institutions retain their individual identity while drawing on the resources of the wider group. Teaching is oriented towards preparation for the global labour market, with stated commitments to academic quality, employability, innovation, student experience, mental health and environmental impact.
Geographic presence spans Europe, including the United Kingdom, Italy, France and Cyprus. The organisation describes itself as working with the agility of a start-up alongside the reach of a global group, with a focus on education technology as well as on creative arts, business, technology and health education. Employees join a network of independent institutions that is large in scale but diversified in subject matter and location.
