Founded in 1945 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, as Elliott Auto Supply Co., Inc., the company has grown from a single location to a network of more than 345 locations across 35 U.S. states. It is headquartered in Eagan, Minnesota, and supplies professional service centers, automobile dealerships, vehicle fleets and wholesale distributors.

The company works with original equipment suppliers and name-brand manufacturers to source its inventory. Its catalogue covers a broad range of vehicle systems, including brakes, batteries, filters, starters and alternators, engine management parts, fuel delivery systems, and air conditioning and heating components, alongside shop supplies and tire repair and TPMS equipment. National warranty coverage applies to OE replacement, quality import and aftermarket auto body parts.
