Explorer Pipeline

Explorer Pipeline operates a refined petroleum products pipeline system running more than 1,800 miles from Port Arthur, Texas to the upper Midwest, carrying gasoline, diesel, fuel oil and jet fuel to markets including Houston, Dallas, Tulsa, St. Louis and Chicago. The southern system has a capacity of 660,000 barrels per day and the northern system 450,000 barrels per day. The company serves 16 states and has more than 60 years of industry experience.

Operations run around the clock, with remote control capabilities and telemetry systems monitoring over 200,000 horsepower of pumping capacity. The control environment collects 6,000 pieces of information every few seconds, supporting work in pipeline operations and monitoring, SCADA-style telemetry, industrial data collection, pumping and hydraulics engineering, and petroleum products logistics.

Headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Explorer Pipeline is owned by a consortium that includes Phillips 66, Marathon Petroleum Corporation, Energy Transfer and Shell. The company states that safety is a paramount commitment, alongside reliability and efficiency in its operations.
