Stronghold Companies

Stronghold Companies is a purpose-built group of specialty companies providing turnkey turnaround and tank services for the refining and petrochemical industries. The group combines an integrated family of firms to handle turnaround, capital and maintenance projects for customers across the refining, petrochemical, midstream and upstream sectors. Headquartered in La Porte, Texas, it operates 35 locations across North America and reports working with 100% of major refinery companies.

The family comprises seven specialty companies: Elite Turnaround Specialists, which provides turnaround specialist services; Cat-Spec and Catalyst Changers, covering catalyst-related work and catalyst changing; Specialty Tank Services; Stronghold Tower Group; Stronghold Inspection; and Turnkey I&E, providing turnkey electrical and instrumentation services. Technical domains span turnaround services, tank services, inspection, electrical and instrumentation, catalyst handling and changing, tower services, and workforce training and education.

For craft professionals and supervisors, the group employs full-time supervision and key craft professionals year-round. Safety is described as deeply embedded in the company culture, alongside a stated focus on delivering the safest, leanest and most efficient quality solutions and consistent performance in safety and quality. Workforce development runs through Stronghold University, a training and education centre producing technicians each year which has trained over 8,000 craftsmen.
