Digital Moment

Canadian nonprofit founded in 2013 in Montreal, creating digital and AI literacy, coding and social innovation learning experiences for youth with educators and community partners.

Digital Moment is a Canadian nonprofit that designs digital and AI literacy learning experiences for young people, working alongside educators, volunteers and community organisations. Founded in 2013 and headquartered in Montreal, it grew out of a local coding initiative and was formerly known as Kids Code Jeunesse. Its work spans AI literacy, digital literacy, coding education and social innovation.

The organisation runs a network of educational programmes, among them Code Club Canada, which provides coding experiences for youth; the Digital2030 Challenge, which aims to prepare young people as ethical digital citizens able to take on real-world problems; and the Social Innovation Lab. Its AI literacy programmes have been developed with partners such as Google DeepMind. Alongside youth-facing work, Digital Moment runs hands-on teacher training workshops across Canada, through which thousands of teachers have been trained.

Digital Moment describes its culture as one built on experimentation and continuous learning, with work carried out as a collective mission and in close collaboration with educators, volunteers and community partners. The organisation holds that technology should be used for good, and measures success by community impact, particularly among underserved and underrepresented young people. Accessible and inclusive opportunity, and youth curiosity as the basis of digital innovation, are stated commitments.

Digital Moment positions itself as Canada's leader in digital and AI literacy education. Its programmes and resources are published at digitalmoment.org.
