Commercial Metals Company is a global steel producer and construction solutions firm, founded in 1915, making recycled-scrap steel for highways, bridges, stadiums and buildings across 209 facilities.

Commercial Metals Company (CMC) is a global steel producer and construction solutions company founded in Dallas in 1915 as a scrap metal recycling operation. More than a century later, it employs over 13,000 people across 209 facilities worldwide, producing steel used in highways, bridges, stadiums and essential buildings.

The company's production is built around electric arc furnace steelmaking fed by 100% recycled scrap, a process it reports produces 64% less CO2 per ton of steel than traditional methods. CMC pioneered micro mill technology and was the first company to build and operate micro mills. Its technical work spans scrap metal recycling, micro mill technology, low-carbon and sustainable steel manufacturing, construction solutions and digital customer platforms, including an automated customer portal for orders and service. The firm also maintains a Net Zero line of steel products.

Industry verticals include steel manufacturing, construction, infrastructure, stadiums and commercial buildings. The company describes a people-centred culture oriented around safety, sustainability and the communities it serves, under the motto "it really is what's inside that counts".
