Cleveland-Cliffs

Cleveland-Cliffs is a fully integrated steelmaker and North America's largest flat-rolled steel producer, with iron ore mining, steelmaking and downstream stamping and tubing operations.

Cleveland-Cliffs is a fully integrated steelmaker and North America's largest producer of flat-rolled steel. Founded in 1847 as a mine operator, the company controls its production chain from upstream iron ore mining and pelletisation through direct reduced iron, integrated steelmaking and downstream finishing, stamping and tubing. It employs approximately 25,000 people across around 60 operating facilities in the United States and Canada.

Its products include flat-rolled steel, value-added sheet for demanding applications (notably in the automotive industry), iron ore pellets, direct reduced iron, stamped components and tubular parts. Vertical integration is central to the business model: the company mines and processes much of its own raw material, which it describes as supporting supply chain reliability and quality control.

Work spans several technical domains, among them iron ore mining and pellet production, DRI production, integrated steelmaking, flat-rolled manufacturing, finishing, tooling and stamping, and tubular components. Industry verticals served include automotive, steel manufacturing, mining, and manufacturing and stamping.

Cleveland-Cliffs states that it has already cut carbon emissions by 25%, and cites environmental stewardship, product quality and innovation among its priorities.
