CelerData

CelerData builds a real-time analytical database, marketed as the Agentic AI Database, designed to make live enterprise data queryable within one second. The system ingests streaming data directly from sources such as Kafka, Flink and Spark, and unifies real-time and historical data so that SQL queries return sub-second results at scale. It is aimed at AI, agent and analytics workloads, combining high-performance query engines with batch ETL and data warehousing alongside data governance and security controls.

The company was founded in 2019 by database engineers, whose earlier open-source work produced the StarRocks project. Open-source and commercial development were brought under one umbrella in August 2022, when CelerData was incorporated into StarRocks. CelerData has since rebranded to PhoenixAI. Technical domains of note include streaming data ingestion, analytical database design, SQL execution and AI data infrastructure.

Customers named by the company include Coinbase, Pinterest, Expedia and Demandbase. CelerData has raised $80m in Series B funding and is headquartered in Menlo Park, California.
