The company operates in more than 100 countries, employs 11,000 people worldwide and reaches approximately 500 million consumers. Opella became an independent company in April 2025, following the acquisition of a controlling 50% stake by CD&R, with Sanofi retaining 48.2% and Bpifrance holding 1.8%.
Its portfolio comprises 100 brands, among them Allegra, Buscopan, Doliprane, Dulcolax, Enterogermina, Essentiale and Mucosolvan. Production is spread across 13 manufacturing sites, supported by four specialised science and innovation centres. Work in Brazil and elsewhere spans consumer healthcare research and development, science and innovation, pharmaceutical manufacturing and health literacy programmes.
