Support Staff. At Kama, the support staff role can be segmented into, or a combination of, the
Barback,
Food Runner, and
Busser roles.
Job Summary
As a
Support Team Member at Kama Bistro, you will play a key role in creating a seamless dining experience by assisting with guest needs, maintaining the flow of service, and ensuring a clean and welcoming environment. You will work closely with the server, bar, and kitchen teams to ensure a smooth service while upholding the restaurant's standards of hospitality.
Key Responsibilities (Food Runner)
- Deliver food to guests, utilizing a "three word drop" to describe each dish
- Develop and maintain menu knowledge, including ingredients, allergens, spice levels, and serveware.
- Fulfill guest requests as they arise (e.g. extra utensils, more water, etc.) or communicate them to the necessary departments.
- Participate in sidework duties throughout the shift.
- Ensure your area remains clean, stocked, and organized.
- Follow all restaurant policies and health/safety regulations.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure a smooth and efficient shift.
Key Responsibilities (Server Assistant)
- Begin and maintain water service for guests, spanning from their first arrival to their departure.
- Monitor guests' dining space and proactively remove empty glasses and dishes.
- Clear and reset tables in a timely manner.
- Fulfill guest requests as they arise (e.g. extra utensils, more water, etc.) or communicate them to the necessary departments.
- Participate in shared sidework duties throughout the shift.
- Ensure your area remains clean, stocked, and organized.
- Follow all restaurant policies and health/safety regulations.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure a smooth and efficient shift.
Key Responsibilities (Barback)
- Begin and maintain water service for guests, spanning from their first arrival to their departure.
- Monitor guests' dining space and proactively remove empty glasses and dishes.
- Maintain a clean, stocked, and organized bar area, which includes fridges, back bar, wells, and storage
- Perform prep duties, adhering to recipes and amounts called for in prep sheet.
- Participate in shared sidework duties throughout the shift.
- Follow all restaurant policies and health/safety regulations.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure a smooth and efficient shift.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience in a full-service restaurant preferred.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Friendly, team-oriented attitude with a passion for hospitality.
- Ability to stand, walk, and carry trays/bins for extended periods.
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
