The Opportunity
We are seeking a Regional Sales Manager to join our team. In this role, you will lead, mentor, and develop a team of sales representatives while setting the standard through your own customer engagement and business development efforts. This position is critical to driving regional growth, strengthening customer relationships, and ensuring sales strategies align with company goals. You will partner closely with operations, customer service, and executive leadership to deliver best-in-class service and sustainable revenue growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Leadership & Team Development: Recruit, coach, and manage a high-performing regional sales team; set performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and foster professional growth.
- Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop and implement regional sales strategies to achieve revenue goals, expand market share, and ensure alignment with company objectives.
- Performance Management: Monitor team performance, analyze key metrics, and report results to senior leadership; adjust strategies as needed to meet or exceed targets.
- Collaboration: Partner with operations, pricing, and customer service to ensure seamless delivery of solutions and high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Market & Competitive Analysis: Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activity, and market conditions; use insights to refine sales approach and identify opportunities.
- Customer Engagement: Maintain and grow relationships with key accounts, serving as a senior point of contact to strengthen partnerships and ensure retention.
- Personal Sales Contributions: Drive new business opportunities and maintain a personal portfolio of accounts, modeling best practices for the sales team.
- Market Representation: Represent MVE at customer meetings, industry events, and trade shows to promote services and enhance brand visibility.
Minimum Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience managing a sales team, preferably within the transportation or logistics industry.
- Industry Knowledge: Minimum 5+ years of sales experience in the LTL industry, with a proven track record of achieving revenue goals.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Logistics, or related field preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to balance leadership responsibilities with personal sales performance.
Base Salary: $110,000 - $150,000 annually, based on experience and location.
- The upper end of the range is reserved for candidates with extensive experience directly managing a local sales team within the industry.·
Classification: Exempt, subject to all applicable state and federal laws.
