The role
Full-time, hybrid. You’ll design, build, and ship AI features end-to-end: train and tune models, wire up retrieval, harden guardrails, and work with our product/infra folks to get capabilities into CaseChat (client portal) and SightSnap (finance/admin).
What you’ll do
- Build NLP/LLM features (classification, extraction, summarization, chat agents, RAG).
- Stand up data + evaluation pipelines (offline tests, A/Bs, quality dashboards).
- Optimize inference for latency and cost (batching, caching, prompt/tooling tweaks).
- Add safety + compliance: PII redaction, policy filters, audit logs.
- Collaborate across the stack (Python services + Node/TypeScript APIs + SQL) to ship.
What makes you a fit
- Strong Python and ML fundamentals; experience with PyTorch/TensorFlow and Hugging Face.
- Hands-on with LLMs (APIs or fine-tuning), embeddings, and vector search/RAG.
- Solid software engineering: tests, Git/GitHub, CI/CD, clean code.
- Comfortable with cloud basics (AWS preferred: S3, RDS, Lambda/ECS) and Docker.
- Product sense—you care about UX, correctness, and measurable outcomes.
Nice to have
- LangChain/LlamaIndex; Postgres/MySQL; Redis; basic observability (PostHog/Grafana/CloudWatch).
- Security/compliance exposure (audit trails, SOC 2-style controls).
- Legal/SaaS background, Stripe integrations, or Twilio.

Compensation
Salary range: $100k–$150k (DOE). Hybrid in Irvine with WFH flexibility.
