Our client, a pre-commercial medical device company that has earned Breakthrough Device designation, is seeking a Director of Commercial Operations to build and scale the commercial operations infrastructure that will support their first market launch.

What You’ll Build and Lead
- Design and implement scalable commercial operations processes for order management, product returns, capital equipment tracking, contract administration, and sales reporting.
- Build and lead a high-performing commercial operations team, creating the foundation for long-term growth and customer success.
- Establish best practices for customer service to ensure seamless support during the transition from pre-commercial to full commercialization.
- Collaborate across sales, logistics, technical support, regulatory, and finance to align operational readiness with commercialization milestones.
- Develop and deploy sales tools, CRM systems, and reporting frameworks to enhance sales team productivity and readiness for launch.
- Lead the customer contracting process strategy, ensuring scalable, compliant, and efficient agreement management.
- Partner with legal and finance to align contract structures with business objectives and financial goals.
- Provide data-driven insights and strategic recommendations to executive leadership, supporting decision-making and accurate forecasting.
- Lay the operational foundation for future growth, ensuring compliance with regulations governing the medical device industry and maintaining quality systems.
What Makes You a Strong Fit
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably in a health sciences area) or equivalent experience.
- 10–15+ years of progressive experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity in medical devices.
- Proven success building and scaling commercial operations in a pre-commercial or early commercialization environment.
- Strong background in customer service, sales operations, contracting, and CRM/ERP system implementation.
- Demonstrated ability to create operational frameworks from the ground up in high-growth or emerging organizations.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to execute in a hands-on, fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional leadership and team-building skills with a track record of driving organizational readiness.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven approach.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Knowledge of medical device industry regulations, quality systems, and compliance requirements.
