We are looking for a detail-oriented Data Entry Clerk to join our team on a long-term contract basis. In this role, you will support the Clinical Billing Department of a non-profit organization, ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of financial and patient information. This position is based in New York, New York, and offers an opportunity to contribute to a meaningful mission while honing your data management skills.
Responsibilities:
• Enter patient details, diagnosis codes, procedure codes, and other billing-related information into the database with precision.
• Review and verify data accuracy by cross-checking against original source documents.
• Collaborate with coding specialists to confirm proper assignment of diagnosis and procedure codes.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies or missing information through regular quality checks.
• Maintain up-to-date records in compliance with billing and coding standards.
• Generate reports and summaries related to data entry tasks as needed.
• Assist in streamlining data entry processes to improve efficiency.
• Ensure confidentiality and security of sensitive patient and financial information.
• Proven experience in data entry, preferably in a clinical or billing environment.
• Familiarity with numeric data entry and high levels of accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for organizing and analyzing data.
• Understanding of medical coding and billing standards is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify errors or inconsistencies.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
