As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and smooth operation of the warehouse and logistics activities. You will be responsible for managing a team of warehouse personnel, overseeing inventory management, coordinating shipments, and maintaining a safe and organized warehouse environment. Your role will be essential in supporting on-time delivery to production lines, maintaining optimal inventory levels, and upholding quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of warehouse associates, ensuring productivity and adherence to company policies and safety guidelines.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify training needs to enhance the skills of the warehouse team.
- Inventory Management:
- Oversee the receipt, storage, and retrieval of raw materials, components, and finished products within the warehouse.
- Implement and maintain a robust inventory control system, conducting regular cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure accuracy.
- Order Fulfillment:
- Coordinate the picking, packing, and shipping of products to meet customer orders and production requirements.
- Collaborate with production and shipping teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials to the production lines.
- Warehouse Organization and Layout:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse layout to optimize space utilization and ensure easy access to inventory.
- Implement safety guidelines and ensure the use of proper equipment to reduce workplace hazards.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that all products leaving the warehouse meet quality standards and comply with customer specifications.
- Collaborate with quality control teams to address any non-conformance issues and implement corrective actions.
- Process Improvement:
- Continuously analyze warehouse operations to identify areas for improvement and implement process enhancements.
- Streamline workflows and procedures to increase efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Health, Safety, and Compliance:
- Promote a culture of safety within the warehouse, enforcing safety protocols and conducting regular safety training.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry standards.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Foster effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams, including production, procurement, and logistics departments.
- Coordinate with suppliers and carriers to track inbound and outbound shipments.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Additional education or certifications in logistics, supply chain management, or related fields is a plus.
- Proven experience (minimum 3-5 years) in a supervisory role within a warehouse, preferably in an automotive supplier facility.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics processes.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, inventory software, and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and adherence to quality standards.
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Flexibility to work occasional overtime or weekends, as required.
