Sanhua International is looking for a Warehouse Supervisor to join our Houston team. The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, and product handling. This role manages the Shipping & Receiving Coordinator and Warehouse Associates, ensuring efficient workflows, adherence to safety protocols, and timely movement of goods. The Warehouse Supervisor plays a key role in optimizing processes to improve operational efficiency and maintaining a productive and safe work environment.
Responsibilities:
Team Management:
- Supervise Team: Oversee the daily activities of the Shipping & Receiving Coordinator and Warehouse Associates, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and safely
- Training & Development: Provide training to staff on equipment operation, safety protocols, and proper product handling procedures
- Performance Monitoring: Set clear performance expectations for the team, monitor progress, and provide feedback to help employees meet or exceed goals
- Scheduling: Coordinate work schedules to ensure adequate coverage during peak periods and efficient resource allocation
Shipping & Receiving Operations:
- Oversee Shipping & Receiving: Ensure accurate and timely shipping and receiving of products by coordinating with the Shipping & Receiving Coordinator
- Monitor Workflows: Continuously assess workflows to identify opportunities for process improvements and optimize the movement of goods within the warehouse
- Problem Solving: Resolve issues related to delays, discrepancies, or damaged goods in collaboration with internal teams and external partners
Inventory Control & Product Handling:
- Forklift Oversight: Ensure proper operation and safety of forklifts and other warehouse equipment by the team, providing training and enforcing compliance
- Product Movement: Supervise the safe and accurate movement of products within the warehouse, ensuring items are stored properly and ready for shipment or further processing
Safety & Compliance:
- Safety Standards: Promote and enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, ensuring that the team follows OSHA guidelines and company safety policies
- Warehouse Maintenance: Ensure the warehouse is clean, organized, and free from safety hazards, conducting regular inspections to maintain compliance with safety standards
Process Improvement:
- Optimize Efficiency: Identify and implement strategies to improve warehouse operations, reduce errors, and increase efficiency in shipping, receiving, and storage processes
- Documentation: Work with the Shipping & Receiving Coordinator to ensure that documentation for incoming and outgoing goods is accurate and complete
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a warehouse environment, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, and product handling
- Experience in operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment
- Ability to lead and motivate a team, with strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with warehouse safety standards and OSHA regulations
- Time Management: Ensure efficient scheduling and task prioritization to meet deadlines
- Problem-Solving: Quickly identify and resolve operational issues related to shipping, receiving, or product handling
- Safety Awareness: Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing safety standards and ensuring team compliance
- Process Improvement: Continuously seek opportunities to optimize workflows and increase warehouse efficiency
