Position Overview
Our client is seeking a Vice President of Supply Chain to lead and expand the end-to-end supply chain function across both clinical and commercial operations. This is a strategic executive role responsible for overseeing supply planning, external manufacturing, logistics, distribution, S&OP, and inventory management, with direct accountability for supply continuity, cost optimization, and operational excellence.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in GxP-regulated environments, strong CMO/CDMO relationship management, and a proven track record of building scalable systems and processes from early development through product launch and commercialization.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the global supply chain strategy aligned with corporate objectives and product lifecycle stages
- Lead all supply chain activities across clinical trial material supply, commercial readiness, and ongoing distribution
- Manage external relationships with CMOs, CDMOs, logistics providers, and packaging partners
- Drive S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) and integrated business planning across internal functions
- Ensure robust supply risk mitigation, inventory control, and business continuity planning
- Build and lead high-performing teams across supply chain planning, procurement, logistics, and operational excellence
- Ensure compliance with GMP, GDP, and regulatory standards across global operations
- Partner cross-functionally with CMC, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Finance, and Commercial leadership to support pipeline progression and product launches
- Implement and optimize supply chain systems, KPIs, and SOPs to support scalability and transparency
Qualifications
- 15+ years of progressive experience in biotech or pharmaceutical supply chain leadership, with deep experience across clinical and commercial operations
- Expertise managing global supply chains involving APIs, FDFs, and third-party manufacturing
- Proven success building supply chain infrastructure in a high-growth, venture-backed environment
- Strong background in outsourced manufacturing models, including vendor selection and contract negotiations (MSAs, SOWs)
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience supporting late-stage development through commercialization highly preferred
- Advanced degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Life Sciences, or related field preferred
