Position: Transportation Distribution Manager

Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in transportation or logistics management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Experience working with TMS platforms and freight optimization tools.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.

Greene Resources is seeking a Transportation Distribution Manager to join a growing and dynamic team!
Job Description:
- Manage daily transportation operations, ensuring on-time and in-full delivery of products to customers, distribution centers, or retail locations.
- Select, negotiate with, and manage relationships with third-party carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics service providers.
- Monitor carrier performance and take corrective actions when KPIs (on-time delivery, cost-per-mile, damage rate, etc.) are not met.
- Analyze shipping trends and freight costs; implement strategies to optimize distribution routes and reduce transportation expenses.
- Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., Warehouse, Customer Service, Sales) to ensure alignment of distribution activities with overall supply chain strategy.
- Maintain compliance with DOT, OSHA, and other federal, state, and local transportation regulations.
- Manage transportation-related documentation and ensure accurate and timely billing and invoicing.
- Use transportation management systems (TMS) and analytics tools to track shipments, resolve issues, and produce reports.
- Support sustainability initiatives related to fuel efficiency and emissions reduction where applicable.
Position Requirements:
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of freight modes (LTL, FTL, intermodal, parcel).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Excel skills preferred.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with TMS systems.
- Experience in Delivery Checkout Systems.
- Certification in transportation or logistics (e.g., CTL, APICS, CLTD).
- Budgeting P&L Statements.
