Our a client, a leading science based non-profit, is looking for a mid-level UI/UX Designer to join their team. This role is remote, 40 hours/week, through December 2025. EST hours required.
This role will involve translating business requirements, research findings, and data into actionable strategies. It involves solving complex design challenges, optimizing solutions using both qualitative and quantitative insights, and presenting design concepts with clarity and impact. The ideal UI/UX Designer will have a strong design background, excellent storytelling ability, and experience leading or participating in design sprints and facilitating workshops in fast-paced environments.
UI/UX Designer Responsibilities Include
- Leading the end-to-end design process and working closely with business stakeholders, product managers, technology team, and researchers to ship impactful products that meet user needs and business goals.
- Create wireframes, high-fidelity designs, and interactive prototypes that effectively communicate design concepts and strategy.
- Adhere to and contribute to the company's design system, ensuring consistency and alignment across all digital products and design work.
- Take multiple design perspectives into account and unify them to ensure a consistent user experience across different products while aligning with the companys overall brand.
- Optimize designs based on data insights, including user research, analytics, usability testing, and A/B testing.
- Present design to stakeholders, articulating the value of design decisions and goals.
- Facilitate and/or participate in design sprints, workshops, and critiques to collaborate with cross-functional teams and continuously refine design solutions.
- Actively soliciting feedback from peers and cross-functional stakeholders through the product design lifecycle.
UI/UX Designer Qualifications
- A minimum of 4+ years of experience in UX/UI design across websites, design systems and applications
- Strong expertise in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, and others.
- Strong understanding of user-centered design, usability principles, accessibility guidelines, and the latest trends in UX/UI design.
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to articulate design vision and strategy to stakeholders.
- Experience in leading design sprints, workshops, design sessions and critiques in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
- Be proficient with web standards, cross-browser compatibility, responsive design, and progressive enhancement strategies (mobile-first design)
- Familiarity with various UX research tools, Agile and Lean UX methodologies
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and using data to drive design decisions.
- Proficient in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- A strong portfolio showcasing your design work, process and final outcomes, including but not limited to wireframes, interactive prototypes, user flows, open source project contributions.
