Job Description: Social Media Manager
Job Overview:
Optimist Consulting is seeking a Social Media Manager to join our digital team and lead social media content production and execution for our clients in real estate, architecture, and lifestyle. Optimist Consulting currently operates in a hybrid work structure; this position is based out of the New York City office.
Job and Responsibilities:
- Communicate with clients about deliverables, timelines, and account updates
- Draft content calendars with impactful copy to share on client channels
- Social media community management and content scheduling
- Edit videos using CapCut or a similar platform for approval and posting
- Brainstorm with the team on social activations and campaigns
- Assist in coordinating activations, campaigns, and content capture
- Influencer research and outreach
- Draft social media reports
- Manage and mentor junior team members
Your Traits and Experience:
- You have 2-4 years of experience in social media marketing and content creation
- You have 2-4 years of experience doing hands-on social media management, including drafting posts and content calendars, scheduling and publishing posts, community management, and reporting
- At least 1 year of client-facing experience and relationship management
- You have strong grammar and writing skills, and your copy rarely needs editing
- You have an eye for compelling imagery and possess a keen eye for aesthetics
- You are highly organized, can multitask, and enjoy working with multiple clients
- You are creative, forward-thinking, and social media savvy—you adapt quickly and work hard
- You have experience planning and coordinating content shoots and working with vendors
- You have video editing experience (creating Instagram Reels, CapCut, etc.) and have used social media management platforms (Sprout, Hootsuite, Sprinklr, etc.)
