Job Overview:
The Vice President of Supply Chain is a key leadership position requiring an experienced leader to facilitate and drive results. This role will be challenged to build and implement a world class SIOP process across Cooper to improve customer satisfaction, profitability, inventory turns, lead times and working capital. This position reports directly to the C.O.O.
This position requires a deep understanding of all aspect of Supply Chain with focus on SIOP, MRP, Master Scheduling, capacity planning and Tactical and Strategic Sourcing.
They will partner with stakeholders to develop and conduct the monthly sales, inventory, and operations planning process. This role will require project management and leadership skills to carry out the SIOP roadmap development, documenting process and partnering with the team on continuous improvement to the process/monthly cycle and Executive SIOP Meetings by collecting relevant information and metrics, preparing presentations for review, and tracking pending actions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, strategic direction, and oversight for the entire Supply Chain process, including strategic sourcing, procurement, logistics, inventory management, and distribution.
- Assumes responsibilities of managing all direct & indirect spend, demand and supply planning, inventory control and warehouse management of all finished goods.
- Operational oversight and execution of distribution center strategic operational initiatives and daily tactical execution through achievement of operational performance, key reporting metrics and financial initiatives. This includes (but not limited to) personnel management, budget performance, delivery execution, customer satisfaction, warehouse thru-put and safety.
- Complete understanding of a build to stock and build to order systems, with effective setting of safety stocks, cycle stocks and prebuild inventory approaches.
- Champion system/application enhancements and/or upgrades to leverage MRP functionality.
- Implement the SIOP process within Cooper Machinery Services, driving SIOP tools and practices across the Sales Organization, Plants and Regions.
- Facilitation of a consensus sales forecast and host monthly meetings of SIOP verses forecast/bookings with stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the Cooper teams to leverage the benefits of SIOP, identify opportunities to improve the effectiveness of the SIOP process across the organization. This would result in a higher level of customer service at a minimal inventory investment and optimized labor/machine utilization.
- Drive year over year, quantifiable savings for the company while maintaining comparable levels of supplier service and quality. Will serve as the primary champion for cost savings across the company. Set priorities and drive the development of annual strategic sourcing plans and communicating progress to executive leaders within the company.
- Demonstrate ability to manage a complex global supply chain including proven capability in developing regional supply chains as required in support of production, and inventory demands.
- Ensure commodity strategy inputs include spend analysis, market and geographic considerations, risk management and total cost of ownership.
- Understand, monitor and forecast key cost drivers based upon market factors and modifies sourcing strategies as appropriate.
- Identify and assess procurement-related risks, such as supply chain disruptions, pricing fluctuations, and compliance issues. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to minimize potential disruptions to the procurement function.
- Establish internal relationships with customer facing functions (Sales and Marketing), Regions, Engineering, Manufacturing and Distribution to ensure transparency through value chain.
- Set the vision for the future of supply chain across the organization, develop and implement strategy.
- Create and monitor KPIs and dashboards to provide comprehensive portfolio reports, analytics, and visibility around Inventory Levels, Warehouse Management, Procurement Activities, Strategic Sourcing Initiatives and SIOP process and planning performance. Identify process improvements to support company goals which meet or exceed the key KPIs, escalate / resolve critical issues, and work with key stakeholders to ensure all teams are prepared to support the plan.

Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required or higher preferred in Supply Chain, Business Administration or other related fields with a strong effective understanding of the impacts to financial results.
- 10 -15 years’ experience in the Supply Chain disciplines with a demonstrated knowledge of strategic sourcing, planning, manufacturing, and distribution; facilitating the demand or supply elements of SIOP.
- SAP knowledge and understanding preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and implement multi-functional initiatives resulting in major improvements in inventory effectiveness.
- Proven leadership, stakeholder management and interpersonal skills, focusing on influencing outcomes through respect, influence, and impact rather than formal reporting line accountability.
- In depth knowledge of manufacturing, processes, forecasts, supply chain.
- Experience in motivating and accomplishing work through others in a matrix environment.
- Ability to probe beyond stated situation and identify underlying issues.
- Proficient using Microsoft Programs (Outlook 365 is Cooper Standard)
