Swoon's Client, a cloud storage, file synchronization, personal cloud, and client software, is hiring for a 1 year contract (possibly to hire) position.
The role is remote but a big preference for someone to be in Chicago. Must be direct W2 (No C2C/H1B/Sponsorship/Third Party)
The manager is looking for someone who has a diverse background in terms of categories – not looking for someone with an SME in one area. The manager wants someone who can be plugged and played depending on the capacities of the team. Wants someone in the middle point who can handle supplier relationships and handle deals from $100-500k.
Verticals to support:
- GTM (marketing, communication, customer experience)
- G&A (finance, legal)
- IT (software, hardware, etc)
A smaller part of the role will be to be plugged into the vendor management to help with certain areas .
70% will be strategic sourcing focused and 30% will help with the vendor management
Strong communication skills, very customer service focused!
Responsibilities
- This role will focus 70% on the traditional sourcing activities; negotiations, renewals, category strategies and 30% on tactical elements like facilitating security risk assessments and other vendor onboarding activities
- You will build and develop relationships with Business Partners globally, including operational leaders, legal teams, finance and risk management.
- Own the development and implementation of key sourcing strategies and buying channels within Finance, Legal, HR, IT, Sales, Marketing and Communications
- Negotiate and drive best-in-class deals
- Define and communicate the Sourcing Strategy to Business Partners, Sourcing Leadership and other stakeholders
- Drive the realization of top savings initiatives and continuously improve the category return on investment
- Build strong relationships with Business Partners to drive Sourcing engagement, and act as the relationship owner with Senior leaders of each categories of spend
- Provide continuous written and verbal updates to the Business Partners, Suppliers and other Stakeholders on the status of each deal
Requirements
- Knowledge and familiarity with the Information Technology and Services sourcing landscape
- Treat problems like there’s no other option than to create a solution for the problem
- Able to navigate ambiguity and remain resilient through ups and downs
- Experience assisting in, or leading the development and management of category plans or sourcing strategies
- Advanced knowledge of procurement best in class practices, key contract terms and emerging market trends
- Financial acumen and experience working closely with Finance
- Excellent written, oral and presentation skills and an ability to synthesize complex and technical information into clear recommendations on course of action
- Ability to influence at an executive level both internally and externally
- A very high level of self-motivation, initiative, passion, excitement to work cross-functionally and excellent interpersonal skills are a MUST have for this role!
- Willingness to offer thought leadership, to think creatively, and to offer new ways to approach old problems
