XYZ Reality

XYZ Reality builds an augmented reality construction platform and the engineering-grade Atom AR hardhat, delivering millimeter-level accuracy to eliminate rework on construction sites.

XYZ Reality develops an augmented reality construction delivery platform and engineering-grade AR hardware for the building industry. Founded in 2017, the company employs over 100 staff and operates across the UK, the US and Europe. Its stated aim is to eliminate rework on construction projects by ensuring work is built correctly the first time, with a particular focus on mission-critical facilities such as data centres and pharmaceutical plants, as well as general contracting.

The company's flagship product is Atom™, described as the world's first engineering-grade AR hardhat. It combines hardware and software to achieve millimeter-level accuracy on construction sites. Alongside it sits the XYZ Reality Construction Delivery Platform, which unifies data across project portfolios and supports planning and delivery workflows. The underlying technical work spans augmented reality, precision measurement and positioning, hardware-software integration and digital construction, including BIM-related processes.

XYZ Reality's origins lie in on-site problems: the founder's experience of a wall built incorrectly and subsequently demolished, and prior work on major European projects including The Shard and Battersea Power Station. The company experimented with a range of technologies from around 2014 before settling on its current approach. Internally, the firm describes a founder-led culture oriented around engineering rigour, precision and experimentation.
