WEG is a Brazilian multinational and one of the world's leading producers of industrial electrical equipment. Founded in 1961 in Jaraguá do Sul, Santa Catarina, the company began as a local manufacturer of electric motors and has since grown into a global producer of capital goods, offering solutions that range from individual motors to complete generating sets.

The product portfolio spans electric motors, variable frequency drives, soft starters, industrial controls, electrical panels, transformers, generators and steam turbines, alongside fully integrated generating sets. These are supplied to industries including oil and gas, mining, steel, pulp and paper, cement and water treatment, with additional activity in renewable energy and electric mobility. The company identifies energy efficiency, renewable energy and electric mobility as its main areas of development.

WEG employs more than 40,000 people and operates manufacturing units in 12 countries, serving customers in more than 135 countries. Net revenue reached R$38.0 billion in 2024, with 57% of that figure coming from external markets. Headquarters remain in southern Brazil, and the company has been under long-standing family leadership by the Kuba family throughout its evolution from local manufacturer to global group.
