Wawa Inc. is a privately held, family-owned, employee-owned convenience store chain serving food, coffee and fuel across the U.S. East Coast.

Wawa Inc. is a privately held, family-owned convenience store chain serving food, coffee and fuel to communities along the U.S. East Coast, with roots in the Philadelphia area. Its origins date to 1803, when the business began as an iron foundry; it became a dairy in 1902 and opened its first food market in 1964. The company has operated for more than 200 years.

The business today is convenience retail and food service. Stores offer built-to-order hoagie sandwiches, coffee for customers on the go, and fuel at store locations, alongside general convenience-store goods. Industry segments in which the company operates include convenience retail, food retail and fuel retail, with dairy and iron foundry as earlier chapters in its history.

For prospective employees, the most distinctive feature of the company is its ownership structure: Wawa is employee-owned through an ESOP, meaning employees are also owners. The company describes a purpose ethos of "Fulfilling Lives" - creating moments that matter for customers and communities - and states values of doing the right thing, putting people first and making every day a little brighter. Its heritage symbol, the Canada goose, drawn from the Lenape word for the bird, appears on the logo as a sign of flying together.
