Wavious

Wavious is a fabless semiconductor company that develops mix-and-match modular chiplets through a platform-based approach to chip design, aimed at compute and AI/ML applications across edge, core and cloud. Its stated objective is to overcome the constraints of traditional system-on-chip design - process technology, power consumption, time to market and development cost - by letting semiconductor teams assemble pre-developed chiplet components into cost-effective packaging solutions.

The company's products include the Wavious Chiplet Platform, which combines the flexibility of FPGAs with the power, performance and cost characteristics of ASICs, and the WPM100, a plug-and-play power management chiplet for next-generation AI systems delivering up to 15A of total current across 12 power domains. Wavious has also released LPDDR4x/5 PHY IP under the Apache 2.0 licence, part of what it describes as a commitment to open-source hardware.

Technical work at Wavious spans chiplet design, mixed-signal IP, power management integrated circuits, AI/ML compute hardware and packaging solutions. The company is headquartered in San Diego, California, with an engineering presence in Raleigh.
