VyOS Networks

VyOS Networks develops VyOS, a Linux-based open-source network operating system offering routing, firewalling and VPN features for bare metal, virtualized and cloud deployments.

VyOS Networks develops VyOS, an enterprise-grade, open-source network operating system built on Linux. The platform provides a comprehensive routing and firewall environment, including dynamic routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF, and VPN technologies spanning IPsec, OpenVPN and WireGuard. It runs on bare metal, virtualized and cloud deployments, and is used across enterprise networking, cloud service providers, data centres and colocation facilities worldwide. The company reports more than 1,000 customers, among them Google, Fujitsu and Equinix.

Alongside the operating system, the company supplies a unified command-line interface and API designed for automation and integration with modern infrastructure tooling, and offers complete source code access with customizable images. This is intended to let organisations adapt their networks to specific requirements and avoid dependence on proprietary hardware.

Technical work at the company spans network operating systems, routing, firewalling, VPN technologies, Linux-based systems, network automation, API and CLI design, and networking across virtualized, cloud and bare metal environments. The engineering culture is organised around open source: source code is open to customers, flexibility and cost are set against proprietary alternatives, and tooling is built to be automation- and developer-friendly.
