Vaillant Group

The Vaillant Group is a family-owned manufacturer of customised products and systems for heating, cooling and hot water supply. Founded in 1874 by Johann Vaillant as a coppersmith and pump maker's craft business in Remscheid, Germany, the company is today the world market leader in central heating units, with a strong focus on renewable energy technologies and heat pumps. It employs over 17,000 people and reported annual revenue of around 3.8 billion euros.

The group operates in more than 60 countries, supported by a networked production base of 11 sites and nine development locations worldwide. Its research and development effort employs more than 800 staff across over 160 parallel projects, covering heating technology, cooling systems, hot water supply, renewable energy, heat pumps and HVAC systems engineering. Products and systems are sold under eight brands: Vaillant, Saunier Duval, AWB, Bulex, Glow-worm, Hermann Saunier Duval, Protherm and DemirDöküm, which are distributed across markets including France, the Netherlands and Belgium, the United Kingdom, Romania and Turkey.

Technical work spans residential and commercial HVAC applications, alongside home appliances. The company maintains a SEEDS sustainability programme with stated climate goals and reports that its CO2 emissions are fully offset. Industry verticals served include heating, cooling, hot water supply, renewable energy and home appliances.
