Urban Utilities

Urban Utilities is one of Australia's largest water distributor-retailers, delivering drinking water and wastewater services across South East Queensland. Established in 2010, it serves approximately 1.6 million customers, including more than 31,000 commercial customers, across Brisbane, Ipswich, Lockyer Valley, Somerset and Scenic Rim. Its asset base is valued at $7 billion and extends across thousands of kilometres of pipe network.

The organisation's work spans water treatment, wastewater management, water distribution infrastructure, resource recovery and environmental sustainability. Alongside its drinking water and wastewater services, Urban Utilities operates 26 Resource Recovery Centres supporting resource recovery operations in the regions it serves.

Urban Utilities states its purpose as "Enriching Quality of Life" by ensuring safe, reliable water services that enhance liveability. The company describes itself as delivering services to growing communities and has released a sustainability report setting out its environmental and social commitments.
