Tarana Wireless
Tarana Wireless develops ngFWA fixed wireless access technology and a broadband platform delivering fiber-class connectivity with wireless deployment ease for operators worldwide.
Tarana Wireless develops ngFWA (next-generation fixed wireless access) technology: a broadband platform built from the ground up to deliver fiber-class connectivity with the ease of wireless deployment. The company, founded in 2009, works across radio networks, custom silicon and AI/ML-powered cloud network management. Its stated aim is to close the global digital divide by making reliable, affordable broadband available to underserved communities.
The engineering effort behind the platform is substantial. Tarana has invested over $400m in research and development across a decade, and employs more than 400 people, among them 23 PhDs and 74 holders of master's degrees. Work is split between the company's headquarters in Milpitas, California, and its R&D site in Pune, India.
The ngFWA platform is now used by more than 300 operators across 24 countries and 47 US states. It addresses broadband and telecommunications markets, spanning wireless networks, semiconductor design and cloud network management.
Tarana describes its culture in practical terms: a bias toward getting good work done together, real ownership of problems, and a preference for tangible results over slogans. The company frames its work as a mission-driven social responsibility programme, and looks for people oriented towards breakthrough engineering and collaborative problem-solving at scale.
