StackBlitz

StackBlitz builds browser-based development tools for the JavaScript ecosystem. Its platform provides instant fullstack web IDEs that run without local setup, remote servers or configuration. The underlying technology is WebContainers, described as the first WebAssembly-based operating system capable of booting entire Node.js environments in milliseconds, with code executed client-side rather than on remote infrastructure.

The company reports that more than one million developers use StackBlitz each month, and that its tools have been adopted by firms including Google, Meta, Shopify, Salesforce and Stripe. Alongside the core IDE and WebContainers, StackBlitz operates Bolt.new, a product that turns text prompts into working web applications.

Technical work spans WebAssembly, Node.js virtualisation, browser-based IDEs, web development tooling, client-side execution and AI-assisted development. The company emphasises developer experience and security through client-side execution, and its environments support offline use.
