Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal (SVKM) is a public charitable trust that runs a network of more than 40 educational institutions across India. Registered under the Society's Registration Act and the Bombay Public Trust Act, the trust covers the full education spectrum from kindergarten to doctoral levels and nurtures more than 35,000 students. Its work spans schools, junior colleges, degree colleges and professional institutes offering programmes in Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, Textile, Arts, Science and Commerce.
The trust's origins lie in Rashtriya Shala, a school established in 1921 during the National Movement and taken over by SVKM on its founding in 1934. Nearly nine decades later, the network includes NMIMS University in Mumbai, founded and operated by SVKM and counted among India's top-ranking institutions, with programmes ranging from undergraduate to doctoral levels.
SVKM states its mission as providing quality education to international standards, with an emphasis on developing young minds that are globally aware and nationally rooted.
