Red Hat Canada Limited (f.k.a Cygnus Solutions Canada Limited)

Red Hat Canada Limited, formerly Cygnus Solutions Canada Limited, is the Canadian arm of Red Hat, a developer and supplier of open source enterprise software. Its best-known product is Red Hat Enterprise Linux, an operating system credited with reshaping the enterprise operating system market. Around it sits a wider portfolio of hybrid cloud platforms and open source technologies covering AI, virtualization, edge computing, application development and automation, built to run from the datacenter to the cloud to the edge.

Red Hat employs more than 19,000 people, known internally as Red Hatters, across over 100 offices in more than 40 countries. Technical work spans open source software, operating systems, hybrid cloud, AI, virtualization, edge computing, application development and automation. The company serves the enterprise technology, datacenter, cloud computing and edge computing sectors.

The organisation works in the open source tradition: ideas are shared, debated and improved by contributors, customers and partners rather than held behind proprietary systems. Engineering and product teams build for flexibility and consistency across deployment environments, and internal identity emphasises collective work over individual output.
