Optical Cable Corporation
Optical Cable Corporation designs and manufactures fiber optic, copper, and hybrid cabling and connectivity solutions for enterprise, industrial, and military customers.
Optical Cable Corporation (OCC) designs and manufactures fiber optic, copper, and hybrid cabling and connectivity solutions for enterprise and military markets. Founded in 1983, the company is headquartered in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Southwest Virginia, with additional facilities in Roanoke, Virginia, and Dallas, Texas. Its products serve mission-critical data centres, broadcast networks, oil and gas, mining, industrial applications, and military and defence customers.
The company's engineering origins lie in meeting demanding U.S. military requirements for cable that is extremely strong, lightweight, rugged and survivable. OCC engineers developed its tight-buffered, tight-bound fiber optic cable technology on that basis. The firm is the premier manufacturer of ground tactical fiber optic cable for the U.S. military and its allies, and the second largest manufacturer in the North American enterprise multimode fiber optic cable market.
Quality standards are a central feature of the organisation: all three manufacturing plants hold ISO 9001:2015 registration, and the Roanoke and Dallas facilities are certified to MIL-STD-790G. The company is certified as a Small Business by the U.S. Small Business Association and is publicly listed on the NASDAQ Global Market under the ticker OCC.
