Oklo
Oklo designs and deploys advanced fast-fission power plants and nuclear fuel recycling technology, targeting data centres, industry and remote sites in the United States.
Oklo designs and deploys advanced fission power plants, developing next-generation fast-fission powerhouses and nuclear fuel recycling technology. The company's flagship product line, the Aurora powerhouse, uses liquid metal-cooled fast neutron reactors based on proven fast reactor designs, producing between 15 and 75 MWe of electrical power. The reactors are built around inherent safety features, including passive mechanisms that reduce reactor power without human intervention, and are designed to run on recycled nuclear fuel, allowing them to use nuclear waste as a fuel source.
The company's technical work spans fast reactor technology, nuclear fuel recycling, passive safety systems and the development and operation of nuclear power plants. Oklo engages directly with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission and has targeted commercial operations of its first Aurora powerhouse for 2028. It has an order book of roughly 15 GW, including a Master Power Agreement with Switch, and is a partner in a 1.2 GW nuclear energy campus in Ohio with Meta.
Oklo's plants are aimed at data centres, artificial intelligence facilities, remote communities, industrial sites and defence installations. Its stated focus is clean, reliable and affordable energy at scale. Operations and development work span the United States, including Idaho National Laboratory in Idaho and projects in Ohio.
