National Vision

National Vision is a US optical retail company operating over 1,200 stores and e-commerce sites for eyeglasses, contacts and eye care, including America's Best, Eyeglass World and AC Lens.

National Vision is one of the largest optical retail companies in the United States. Founded in 1990 with five Vision Centers for Walmart, it now operates more than 1,200 retail stores across 38 states and Puerto Rico, selling eyeglasses, contact lenses and eye care services to value-seeking consumers. The company is publicly traded on NASDAQ under the ticker EYE.

The business runs through several retail and online brands. America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses and Eyeglass World are its principal optical retail chains, both acquired by the company. Vista Optical operates optical locations inside select Fred Meyer stores and on military bases. Online, AC Lens and DiscountContacts.com sell contact lenses and vision products through e-commerce platforms.

Technology work spans remote care, telehealth and e-commerce. National Vision has developed remote care technology that allows optometrists to examine patients in areas without easy access to eye doctors, alongside its digital storefronts. Roles touch healthcare delivery, retail operations and online commerce across a multi-brand footprint.

The company describes its mission as helping people see their best to live their best, with a stated focus on affordable vision care for lower-income consumers. In 2024 it provided more than 67,000 free vision screenings, and it supports eyeglass distribution on mission trips through partnerships with VOSH/International.
