LPA, Inc., known as LPA Design Studios, is an integrated architecture and design firm founded in 1965. The practice employs more than 550 architects, engineers, landscape architects, interior designers and planners across seven studios in California and Texas, working on buildings and places intended to be timeless, sustainable and high-performance.
The firm delivers architecture, engineering, landscape architecture, interior design and planning within a single collaborative team. A dedicated Sustainability and Applied Research group measures and validates design performance, so that decisions are informed by data rather than assumption. The firm's architecture practice was recognised with the 2025 AIA Architecture Firm Award.
LPA describes its structure as flat and collaborative, with an emphasis on collective work over individual achievement. Staff development is supported through LPA+U education sessions and professional development grants, alongside a Diversity in Design Scholarship programme. The workforce is 45% women and 40% racial and ethnic minorities, and half of employees stay with the firm for more than a decade.
