Lila Sciences is developing what it calls Scientific Superintelligence - an autonomous operating system for science that carries out the scientific method without continuous human direction. The system generates hypotheses, designs and runs experiments, and learns from new data in real time, combining advanced artificial intelligence with physical autonomous laboratories. Its work spans machine learning, scientific reasoning, autonomous experimentation and real-time learning from data, aimed at research and R&D across life sciences and general scientific research.

Two products make up the platform. Lila Iris is a scientific reasoning model placed in the hands of partners' scientists; partners retain control over their own research processes and data. The AI Science Factory comprises proprietary autonomous lab instruments that serve as the physical body of the system, verifying experiments and feeding a learning loop that compounds with each experiment. The company reports scaling experimentation to shorten research timelines while maintaining scientific rigor.
