KIMARU Talent, founded in 2020, provides specialised full-cycle recruitment services to VC-backed game studios and tech startups. The firm works directly with venture capitalists, founders and executives to fill senior and hard-to-fill roles across gaming, ad-tech, Web3, SaaS and mobile applications.

Its service covers the whole hiring process: writing job descriptions, designing interview stages, negotiating offers and conducting reference checks. The company was established by Rumiko Matsumoto, who has nearly a decade of recruitment experience for startups in mobile apps, gaming and ad-tech. While leading talent acquisition at Sensor Tower, she built a recruitment team from scratch, hired the company's global leadership team and achieved a fivefold increase in headcount.

The name Kimaru is a Japanese verb meaning "to decide (a victory)" - a reference to the firm's stated view that each successful hire brings a company closer to its next win.
