Hypotenuse

Hypotenuse builds an AI platform that helps ecommerce brands manage product data and automate workflows - filling in product details, editing images and writing product content.

Hypotenuse builds an AI platform for ecommerce brands that manages product data and automates the workflows around it. Using AI agents, the platform fills in missing product details, edits product images and writes product content, compressing processes that once took months into days. The technical work spans generative AI and content generation, image editing and computer vision, product data management and workflow automation, on a stack that includes Python, PyTorch, React, TypeScript and cloud infrastructure on AWS and GCP.

The company serves ecommerce and retail customers globally, including Crunchyroll, Billabong and major department stores across the United States and Canada. It is headquartered in Singapore, with a customer base extending across North America and beyond. Funding stage and founding year are not disclosed.

Hypotenuse runs a deliberately lean team with no dedicated HR function, hiring one person per role and receiving hundreds of applications per position. It says it weighs a candidate's rate of growth above their current skill level and welcomes applications even where experience does not match the stated requirements exactly. The company has published tenets at careers.hypotenuse.ai/hypotenuse-ais-tenets and describes its ideal hires as carrying a founder's mentality: speed, scrappiness, tenacity and an ability to dream big.

The application process is resume-focused and low-friction, with no long cover letter expected. Full-time candidates go through one or two phone screens followed by a half-to-full-day onsite that includes meals with the team and functional and behavioural discussions; interns have a combination of phone screens and on-site interviews. Candidates who are turned down may apply again.
