GovWell
GovWell builds a cloud-native SaaS platform with generative AI that helps municipal and county governments run permitting, licensing, zoning, code enforcement and public works.
GovWell builds an AI operating system for government. Founded in 2023 and headquartered in New York City, the company provides a cloud-native, multi-tenant SaaS platform designed to replace legacy software in municipal and county government. The GovWell Platform acts as a configurable system of record combined with generative AI, handling permitting, licensing, planning and zoning, code enforcement and public works. It automates internal work for staff and guides residents through government services, and can be deployed rapidly.
The platform now powers more than 5,000 mission-critical processes across government customers in over 30 US states, serving millions of residents. Compared with legacy systems, agencies using the platform report reductions in internal processing time for permits and licences of up to 90%.
Technical work spans generative AI, AI-native software design, cloud-native multi-tenant architecture and workflow and process automation. The company raised $10M in seed funding and is backed by Work-Bench and Bienville Capital. Staff work in person at the New York City headquarters, with a stated focus on public trust and government service delivery.
