Glacier Fish Company

Glacier Fish Company produces and distributes frozen-at-sea groundfish, operating a fleet of trawl catcher-processor vessels that catch, process and freeze fish on board. Founded in 1982 by Erik Breivik and several fishing families, the Seattle-based company is among the largest producers of frozen-at-sea cod and pollock, and sells a broad line of groundfish to customers worldwide. Technical work spans frozen-at-sea fish processing, vessel operations, seafood freezing and preservation, distribution logistics and fishery resource management.

Work takes place at sea across the Bering Sea, the Aleutian Islands, the Gulf of Alaska and the coasts of Washington and Oregon. The company reports strong crew retention, with many employees remaining for 20 years or more, and describes its diverse crew as its greatest asset.
