Food Concepts PLC

Food Concepts Plc is a Quick Service Restaurant and baked goods company that develops, owns and operates proprietary food brands across West Africa, with its main operations in Nigeria. Founded in 1999, it commenced operations in 2000 and converted to a Public Limited Liability Company by special resolution on 10 May 2009. Work spans quick service restaurant operations, food production and manufacturing, baked goods production, brand development and franchising, and multi-site food retail.

The company's brands include Chicken Republic, a QSR brand focused on chicken-based meals for West African customers; PieXpress, a baked goods and pie brand supplied by 10 strategically positioned pie production facilities around Nigeria; and The Chop Box. Earlier in its history it developed and nurtured the Yum Yum brand, acquired the Butterfield baked goods brand, and secured and operated franchises from South African QSR operators in Nigeria; these were later divested in corporate restructuring.

Food Concepts states a mission to challenge the status quo by delivering quality food products and services that appeal to modern West African customers, and a vision to be the most loved Quick Service Restaurant and baked goods brands across West Africa. Its operating model rests on proprietary brand development and strategically positioned production facilities supporting multi-site food retail across the region.
