EBC is a family-owned Canadian construction company founded in 1968, when Fernand Houle and his brother Germain established it as Entreprises Bon Conseil. Nearly six decades on, the company employs roughly 1,600 professionals across seven offices and has completed about 760 projects with a combined value of some $22 billion. Its work spans the full project lifecycle, from preconstruction planning and design-build and construction management through to after-sales service.
The company operates through three divisions. The Civil Engineering Division handles infrastructure such as bridges, roads, highways, tunnels, wharves and piers. The Building Construction Division covers institutional, commercial and residential projects. The Industrial Projects Division serves mining and metals, renewable energy - including hydroelectric, wind, battery and hydrogen facilities - and sustainable waste management; the company has delivered thousands of megawatts of wind-farm capacity.
EBC works across Canada, with offices in Québec City, Montréal, Brossard, Ottawa, Mississauga, Timmins and Vancouver, and projects in Québec, Ontario, Manitoba, British Columbia, Newfoundland and Labrador and New Brunswick. It pioneered ISO 9001 certification in 1992. Marie-Claude Houle serves as Executive Chair of the Board and Ghyslain Deschamps as President and CEO.
Stated values centre on quality workmanship, respect and integrity, alongside safety and environmental protection and a commitment to sustainable development as a corporate responsibility. The company reports active collaboration with Indigenous communities on jobs, training and subcontracting partnerships.
